What should the STEM idea be about?

It should be based off STEM research that has been applied in a new and unique way!

Points to cover

  • THe STEM CONCEPT

Outline the core science and tech behind your idea, so that a general audience can understand the theory behind it.

  • THE IMPACT

Explain how the STEM concept can be applied to offer a solution and create something of value. How it can benefit Australia economically, socially, or environmentally?

Tips

  • Let’s Torque is about communication, not innovation. You don’t need to have invented the idea yourself. You can talk about an exciting recent discovery.

  • Target your STEM communication at a generalist audience. The general public, politicians, investors, even your grandma should be able to grasp your key points!

  • Familiarise yourself with the competition regulations.
